Last month, we organized our first annual Sustainability Day with our employees and internal stakeholders. On this occasion, we held a discussion round and collected feedback on our sustainability strategy as well as ideas for the future. The team came up with plenty of great ideas for making Petrex even more energy-efficient and increase the visibility and effectiveness of our sustainability efforts.
Later in the day, the team visited the exhibition “Planet Ocean” at the Gasometer Oberhausen. There, we learned about how the ocean is our planet’s most important and diverse eco-system which needs to be protected at all cost. We gained new insights on how we can help reducing the human impact on the oceanic eco-system.
This week we made a review-meeting to talk about impressions and ideas that came up after the exhibition. Our team had a lot of interesting ideas that the sustainability management will keep up with.
We look forward to next year’s event and thank everyone for joining and supporting our common mission of doing business responsibly and sustainably.

“The empowerment of women is the key to unlocking the potential of a nation” (Michelle Obama, 21st March 2024).
Petrex celebrates the greatness of women! One key to a harmonic and also successful company is a diverse but also equal environment.
Saturday, 8th of March 2025 was this year’s International Women’s Day. Petrex wants to take advantage of the opportunity to say thanks to all women, especially in our company for being an important part and making a huge impact on the company’s success.
We also want to welcome our new female team members, we are proud to have them in the Petrex family.
To empower women, Petrex takes several actions all over the year. One step to support future female leaders is to take part on girls day, 3rd of April 2025.
In the occasion of this year’s women’s day Petrex supported a women’s advice center.
We also invite our stakeholders to join us to improve the workplace of tomorrow by empowering women.

In February, we have successfully passed our first control inspection for our ISO 9001:2015 certification. Such an inspection is done on a yearly basis. Every third year a full audit is performed to ensure that everything is up to standard.
During the inspection no major and no minor non-confirmities were detected. This underlines our commitment to providing the best possible service to everyone involved with us.
Generally, the ISO 9001:2015 certification analyzes a business based on
- Requirements for a QMS, including documented information, planning and determining process interactions
- Responsibilities of management
- Management of resources, including human resources and an organization’s work environment
- Product realization, including the steps from design to delivery
- Measurement, analysis, and improvement of the QMS through activities like internal audits and corrective and preventive action

The Chinese New Year of 2025 falls on January 29th (Wednesday), and will last to February 2nd. It is the Year of the Snake. As an official public holiday, Chinese people can get eight days’ off from work, from January 28th to February 4th.
Chinese people believe that what you do at the beginning of a new year will affect your luck in the coming year. Staying up on Chinese New Year’s eve on January 28th and saying good words to your family/friends will will certainly bring good luck!
